Here at Creature Comforts, we know how much you love your dog. It’s that love that our whole company is founded on. It’s no secret that Durangoan’s love their four-footed friends. Of course, you know that your friendly dogs are always welcome in our store. We love when they come in to pick their own treats and in general just stop by to say hello. But, with Durango’s love of dogs, we thought we’d introduce you to some other pet-friendly Durango perks!
Dog Parks & Trails
With miles of trails to access in almost any corner of town, there’s no shortage of places for an outdoorsy dog to get their hike on. According to Durango.org All trails and parks within the city limits require leashes. But, fear not, for dogs who prefer some off-leash time, San Juan National Forest and Weminuche Wilderness Area allow off-leash dogs as long as they are within sight and under voice control. If you need some in-town off-leash time the Durango Dog Park located at the base of Smelter Mountain boasts several acres of off-leash fun plus river access for swimming.

Durango Bagel
If you love a good bagel, the bagel lovers at Durango Bagel just happen to be dog lovers and you can grab a slice of Canadian Bacon for Fluffy’s breakfast treat.
Starbucks
Did you know that anytime you order your favorite latte, you can order one for Fiddo free of charge? That’s right! All local Starbucks will happily serve up a Puppachino for your furry friend.
Pet-Friendly Shops
Lot’s of local stores and shops love to see you and your dog come by for some retail thereapy. Plus, as you stroll down Main Ave. you’ll notice fresh dishes of water set out to keep your pup hydrated.
